The Dennisville Adventure Ride Navigates Riders Through Picturesque Southern Ohio Backroads

LOGAN, Ohio – A hot summer day greeted more than 70 riders who gathered at Hocking Valley Motorcycle Club’s headquarters on June 7 for a riders’ meeting that provided an overview of the route, as well as the backstory of the event’s name, which honors a former club member, adventure rider and explorer Mike Dennis.

The Dennisville Adventure Ride treated adventure motorcyclists to a self-guided, 126-mile route that pointed them south toward Chauncey, Ohio, before turning southwest and completing a loop in Zaleski State Forest. From there, riders headed to a hot lunch, sponsored by Motohio and BMW Motorrad, at the Vinton County Airport in New Plymouth, Ohio.

Pulling into the lunch stop after 71 miles, riders could be seen piloting machines from a KTM 1290 Super Adventure, a BMW R1200GS, a Honda CRF250L and everything in between. After lunch, riders were routed north toward Hocking Hills State Park and Lake Logan State Park before arriving back at the HVMC clubgrounds in Logan, Ohio, after another 55 scenic miles.

Riders praised the route and welcoming atmosphere in the post-event survey:

After several hours of exploration on two wheels, a good meal, camaraderie and a day full of memories, adventure riders turned their sights on their journeys back home to 46 different communities across the state.
